Something about the brand

This brand boasts of beauty products that are a 100% Natural and chemical free. Based on traditional Indian beauty recipes, these products remind you of those home treatments your grandma would recommend.

Most of these are products concocted with ingredients available on your kitchen shelf, only in their purest form and ideally combined together to provide maximum benefit and target various skin problems.

The Products & My Experience

The summers have set in and with the sweat and grime, you need to exfoliate regularly to keep your skin clean and avoid clogged pores. I received 3 varieties of scrubs from Svayam Natural and tried them all out. Let’s look at each of them and how they play against each other.

  • Apricot with Dried Rose Petals, Moong Dal & Amba Haldi
  • Orange Peel Scrub
  • Almond Oat Scrub
  1. Apricot with Dried Rose Petals, Moong Dal & Amba Haldi

Ingredients: Apricot, Rose Petals, Moong Dal, Amba Haldi, Oats

  • Apricots being a great source of vitamins A & C help in preventing wrinkles and help toning the skin.
  • Moong Dal contains vitamins and enzymes that helps in rejuvenating the skin.
  • Amba Haldi has an anti-inflammatory effect thereby helps in healing any damage to the skin.

Prime benefits: Prevents Wrinkles & Skin toning

My Experience:

This product will suit all skin types and they even indicate how each skin type should be applying this. For oily skin, the suggestion is to add curd; For dry skin, one should mix milk & For normal skin, one can add rosewater. They also recommend adding a pinch of turmeric for better results.

The mix is a little gritty, so it doesn’t mix into a creamy paste too easily. I did the best I could and applied it all over my face, gently scrubbing away. In a few mins and it got quite dry causing my face to stiffen, so I had to keep adding water and dampen my face to soften before I continued to scrub away. It took a while to wash off completely but it left the skin feeling extremely soft and smooth. The skin had a nice glow too.

  • It does the job of a nice scrub by exfoliating, and it isn’t too harsh yet can be avoided by those with sensitive skin.
  • It is extremely good for oily skin as the dal helped soak off all that excess oil and sebum.

  • The over powering fragrance of the moong dal and can be a little turn off.
  • It is quite gritty and hence lumps up easily.
  • It being a natural product, the shelf life is of two months only so needs to be used frequently as the standard 100gms jar can last quite a while considering that you don’t need too much at a time.

This is available in 100gm jar @ ₹375 on Flipkart / Amazon at a 9% discount.

Would rate this scrub at a 6.5/10 the downside being it isn’t too easy to work with.

  1. Orange Peel Scrub

Ingredients: Orange Peel, Oats, Almonds

  • Orange peel is abundant in Vitamin C & Calcium. Vitamin C helps being that glow to the skin and the calcium helps in rejuvenating dull looking skin
  • Almonds are rich in Vitamin E which helps in preventing skin damage and repair the damage caused by the sun and beat the signs of ageing.

Prime benefits: Prevents Skin Ageing and helps in Skin Exfoliation

My Experience:

This mask is an excellent exfoliator for those with sensitive skin. The orange peel provides for a much softer, milder scrub thereby avoiding any harsh impact to the skin. This needs to be mixed well before using on the face to create a creamy consistency else it can get quite lumpy on the skin.

  • It’s a mild exfoliant hence can be used more often than most scrubs. It also will suit those with sensitive skin.
  • The orange peel lends a pleasant fragrance to the scrub.
  • It hydrates the skin well while taking off the excess oil & sebum.

  • It is quite a mild scrub so won’t help in removing those stubborn blackheads unless used regularly.
  • This is available in 100gm jar @ ₹375 on Flipkart / Amazon at a 9% discount.

Would rate this scrub 8/10 as it is an ideal scrub for regular use.

  1. Almond Oat Scrub

Ingredients: Oats, Almonds, Masoor Dal, Haldi, Mustard seeds

  • Almonds are rich in Vitamin E which helps in preventing skin damage and repair the damage caused by the sun.
  • Masoor Dal helps in removing tan and brings a glow to the skin. It also helps in the prevention of acne.
  • Mustard seeds are a rich source of Vitamin A which is a natural anti-aging solution. It prevents wrinkles and helps avoid pigmentation on the skin.

Prime benefits: Prevents Skin Pigmentation and Removes Tanning & helps in Skin Rejuvenation

My Experience:

This scrub suits normal to oily skin as it can be a bit drying, unless mixed with milk and used. It is extremely soft on the skin and leaves the skin feeling even toned and glowing.

  • The anti-aging effect is very visible as it certainly helps smoothen out the skin, diminishing the appearance of fine lines.
  • The dal pulls off the excess oil from the skin leaving it quite smooth.

  • The dal in the scrub can cause it to be a bit drying.
  • If not mixed well, the scrub can get quite lumpy.

This is available in 100gm jar @ ₹375 on Flipkart / Amazon at a 9% discount.

Would rate this scrub 7/10 as though it can be quite gritty, it visible makes a difference to the skin.
